Kinetic Creative Studio recently completed a three month project with the California State Library. We produced a series of ten
mini-documentaries by and about local Sacramentans, designed a suite of multimedia training materials and
led a series of public workshops on the art and technology of digital storytelling.
This project was a part of a larger state program designed
to put the knowledge and tools for digital storytelling into the hands of the
community. The goal is to create an audio-visual tapestry of California life called "California
of the Past."
Using Apple's iLife '09 suite of tools, residents can tell
short stories of their personal experiences, family histories, places of
interest or anything about life in Sacramento
that is important to them. These stories are preserved in the permanent archives of the
Sacramento Room, posted on the library's website, and are available for
checkout from the audio visual collection of the Central branch.

The Digital Story Station project will continue at Central Library,
downtown on 8 th and I Street, and anyone interested in telling a
story should contact one of the Digital Media Artists on staff by filling out
an online application.
