Chalk It Up is an annual benefit for Children's Arts Education where local artists descend upon Freemont Park in downtown Sacramento and cover its sidewalk squares with powdery images and smudgable designs. We had photographed last year's event for some local magazines and artist portfolios and were so impressed by the whole event that we sponsored a square this year for the Sacramento Public Library. The design features "Snoopy" Grasso, the moderately famous multi-cellular eco-tour guide from Vieques Island.
The Kinetic Team uses the library's resources on almost a daily basis for research, inspiration and entertainment. We like to promote public interest and volunteerism at SPL whenever we can, so here it is again:
