Video production in the Caribbean can be difficult and rewarding at the same time, much like eating a large, ripe mango. It’s a pain to get into, it’s a total mess and you’ll get strings in your teeth, but once you get to the meat of it and the juices are dripping down your face you know it was all worth it.
Such is our find here with these videos for Villa Punta Martineau and Villa Bella Vista on Vieques Island. Shooting on Vieques was interrupted by a hurricane which forced all of our locations to be locked down for the storm and of course the light and sky went flat. So we waited it out with a bottle of rum and some avacados we rescued from a neighbor’s tree until the storm passed.
As you can see, our patience paid off as we got to shoot and hang in some of the nicest vacation villas on the island. It didn’t hurt that they are on the same property as the W Hotel too, so we could take breaks down at the bar and talk with some interesting world travelers who didn’t seem to mind, care or notice the mango strings in my teeth.
